I know a lady who had to go on a diabetic diet for health reasons. I was wondering if there was anywhere that I could find a meal plan for a 1800 calorie or 1600 calorie diet, that lists foods for each meal and snacks etc etc. I know for a dieabetic diet just cut out sugar, but the meal plans actually break it down. Please help.

You really don’t want a diet plan given to someone by a doctor. They have no knowledge of nutrition and the person that gave the doctor the plan was probably a rep from a drug company that was promoting some diabetic drug.

That web site is very comprehensive and very good information that is nutritionally sound. You need to understand the difference between glycemic index and glycemic load. The index is not the best way to approach the issue because it requires 50 grams of a nutrient and just imagine how many carrots are in 50 grams. The Glycemic Load deals with “SERVING SIZES” and is much better. To count calories is not a good idea either. The type of food you eat that provides calories is the important issue.
And yes, it IS possible to cut out sugar, but carbohydrates generate glucose in the blood the same as sugar. The difference is the density of the carb and how long it takes the body to break it down. If you overload your body with carbs or sugar, this is when you get the “insulin resistance” associated with diabetes. It’s not enough just to manage your diet, but you need to look at many other aspects, such as digestion. If you are not digesting properly, and have a high pH in the stomach, you will get the nano bacteria that CAUSES DIABETES because it will attack the pancreas. I strongly urge you to seek out a Certified Nutritional Therapist to guide you through this process. Diabetes type II is NOT a life sentence and you CAN get healthy again with the proper advice.

I have been on a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet since last May; but I have actually gained wait ever since I stopped eating meat. Does anyone know of a healthy diet plan? I would also like to start working out and was wondering which plan would be the most appropriate. Thanks.

You’ve probably gained weight as a result of eating more carbs than you was before, and not burning them off, make sure you balance and replace the protein from meat with eggs and other protein such as Quorn or nut roasts etc, then once you start your Gym programme be sure to try other protein supplements AFTER your workout – such as wholegrain salads, pulses, even soya milk has more protein than cows milk, and could help to repair that muscle tissue… Iron is essential too, so if you can cope with spinach, please do so, and again soya products are a good source of Iron for the blood.

I’m looking for a diet plan which will help me to lose weight while giving me enough energy to work out, but I hate salads….Can’t stand lettuce or spinach or a lot of raw vegetables in general. Every plan I look at seems to incorporate a lot of vegetables and salads into it. Anyone got any good ideas of a “salad free” diet? Thanks!

changing your diet to only healthy foods is the best thing you can do and will ensure you will lose weight if combine with walking everyday especially.
you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.
1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.
(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)
